3 Energy Boosting Natural Pre-Workout Drinks Made With Cordyceps

3 Energy Boosting Natural Pre-Workout Drinks Made With Cordyceps
After a long day, I often find myself exhausted and easily find ways to justify not going to the gym. (I'll go tomorrow I promise!) I’ve searched for energy boosters... but usually they either cause uncomfortable jitters, or fail to energize me. But lately I’ve been on a Cordyceps kick. This mushroom has been helping to naturally increase my energy and reduce my end of day fatigue. It's been shown to boost athletic performance, increase ATP (your body’s energy molecules), and improve oxygen utilization. I really started to notice positive effects after a few weeks of use. Most days I enhance my morning tea with Cordyceps and near the end of the work day I whip up an all natural Cordyceps pre-workout energy drink before I head to the gym.

1. The Green Boost

The Green Boost recipe below is my go to quick natural energy booster before my workouts. This is an easy recipe, and if you’re a kombucha fan you will love it. If you’re not a fan of kombucha you can opt for green tea, raw apple cider or coffee. I’m not a huge coffee drinker, especially in the afternoon. The caffeine can leave me feeling jittery, and can really effect my ability to fall asleep at night. This green boost recipe is the perfect replacement! Ingredients: Preparation: Gently stir the Cordyceps extract into the kombucha and drink. If you do not have access to GT’s Multi-Green kombucha you can substitute any regular kombucha with addition of a daily greens powder, this will be similar.

2. Iced Blueberry Green Tea Boost

This drink needs a little more complex, but a great option for a natural pre-workout drink. Ingredients
  • 4 cups of water
  • 3 green tea bags
  • 2 cups blueberries
  • ¼ cup lemon juice
  • Mint leaves
  • Honey if desired
  • 1 scoop Hero2 Cordyceps Extract
Preparation Bring the blueberries and lemon juice to a boil in a pot for about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and strain into a bowl, use the back to the spoon to press out all of the liquid. Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a pot. Remove from heat and add the tea bags, let stand for 3-5 minutes, then discard the tea bags. Stir in sweetener if desired and blueberry mixture. Pour into a pitcher and chill. When ready to drink, fill your cup and add 1 scoop of Hero2 and enjoy.

3. Pineapple Cider Vinegar Boost

Looking for something tasty that might also help with weight loss and reduced cholesterol? Combine the power of mushrooms with apple cider vinegar! Ingredients
  • ½ cup water
  • ½ cup pineapple juice
  • 1 Tbsp honey
  • 1 Tbsp organic apple cider vinegar
  • 1 scoop Hero2 Cordyceps Extract
Preparation Add all ingredients into a glass or bottle. Stir to mix thoroughly, and enjoy. This recipe is also great for weight loss.
