3 Ways To Use Mushroom Powder

Mushroom extract powder is one of the most versatile ways to get the benefits of mushrooms into your life. Powders are easy to mix and match- and ideal for creating your perfect mushroom moments all throughout the day. Here are three ways to use extract powders:

1. Mix Into Your Coffee

If you're like the millions of people worldwide that begin their day with a cup of coffee, then this might be the best place to start. You can add one scoop of your favourite mushroom powder straight into your coffee, stir, and enjoy! Mushrooms can add a nice earthy flavour that many enjoy. Of course, you can always add a little sweetener or cream if preferred. My favourite is adding Thrive 6 to coffee. But if you’re not a coffee drinker no worries- Tegan adds it to her tea every morning and it’s just as good!
FAQ: Does the heat from coffee or tea ruin the benefits of the mushrooms? Nope! The beneficial compounds in mushrooms are heat stable. In fact, we process the mushrooms in hot water in order to extract the benefits from the mushrooms before spray drying back into a fine powder that can be added to anything without requiring further processing.

2. Add To A Smoothie

Most people like the flavour of mushrooms in coffee or tea- but there are the purists out there that would never mess with a perfect cup of coffee… (I totally understand!) In that case, adding to a smoothie might be the best option. Smoothies can hide the flavour of mushrooms, so you can get all the benefits without having to worry about the taste profile. I like to mix frozen fruit and some oat milk in a blender, toss in whatever mushrooms I am feeling (ex. Cordyceps if I am planning on working out) and enjoy! One thing that people often overlook is that mushroom powders can basically be added to anything! Soups, stews, oatmeal, even baking- there are a million ways that mushrooms can be added to your daily routine.
