Is chaga high in antioxidants, and how does yours compare?
Chaga is one of the mushrooms most associated with antioxidant support, and that's exactly why we dual-extract it. Hot water alone pulls the water-soluble compounds; the alcohol stage gets what water leaves behind. A lot of cheap chaga is either ground raw chaga, which is largely indigestible, or mycelium grown on grain. Ours is a 14:1 extract with the beta-glucan percentage printed, which is more than most labels will give you.
How much chaga should I take, and when?
Take 2 capsules a day, any time, with or without food. There's no caffeine in it and it isn't stimulating, so timing genuinely doesn't matter, take them whenever you'll remember. Nothing needs cycling. If you're already taking one of our other single mushrooms, chaga stacks fine alongside it.
What's in it, and why is the beta-glucan number lower than your other mushrooms?
Organic chaga (Inonotus obliquus), dual-extracted, standardized to 15% beta-glucans at 1,000 mg per serving. It's a 14:1 extract, equivalent to 14,000 mg of raw chaga. The 15% is lower than our Lion's Mane at 31% or Turkey Tail at 35%, and that's simply what chaga tests at. Chaga isn't really bought for its beta-glucan content, so we'd rather print the real number than quietly leave it off.
Who takes chaga, and what for?
Chaga is usually taken for everyday immune and antioxidant support rather than for energy or focus. It's a background product, not something you take before a workout or a deadline. It has no caffeine and isn't stimulating, so morning or evening both work. If you want immune support with a much higher beta-glucan number, Turkey Tail is worth comparing. Skip it if you're pregnant, nursing, or allergic to mushrooms, and check with your doctor if you're on prescription medication.
How long should I take it before deciding?
Give it a few weeks of daily use before you make a call on it. Chaga is a slow, background product and there's no point where you feel it switch on, which is worth knowing up front so you're not waiting for one. It suits people who take it the way they'd take a daily vitamin. If you want something you notice more directly, Cordyceps or Lion's Mane are better starting points.
