What's actually in the Reishi extract?
Organic Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum) fruiting body and spore, standardized to 27% beta-glucans and 1.4% triterpenes, at 1,000 mg per serving. It's a 14:1 dual extract, equivalent to 14,000 mg of raw mushroom. Reishi gets dual-extracted because the beta-glucans come out in hot water and the triterpenes need alcohol, so a water-only extract leaves half the picture behind. Both numbers are on the label.
Is this different from regular reishi powder?
Yes, our powder is a dual extract rather than ground mushroom, and with reishi that gap is bigger than with most species. Reishi is genuinely woody, and its useful compounds sit behind chitin that only extraction opens up, so ground reishi is close to sawdust in practice. It also means ours tastes bitter, which is normal and comes from the triterpenes. If that puts you off, the capsules deliver the same extract with no taste.
Who is Reishi for?
Reishi is the wind-down one, so people usually take it in the evening rather than the morning. It's the opposite end of our range from Cordyceps. It isn't a sleep aid and it won't knock you out, so don't expect that. If you want focus during the day, Lion's Mane makes more sense.
